psawya -

Yup, thats an electric Fury 60 called the "Ion"

Its been in development for a few months now, and currently flies on 8200 mah Thunder Lithium Polymer flight packs. Total flight times are 12-20 minutes of all out 3D on a single charge, and Im told it has a tad more power than most .60 machines!

Anyone got video of the Ion? Ive seen pics and heard about it for months and even work with the guy who builds the batteries (Thunder Power batteries are built right here in Las Vegas), but I havent seen any video yet.

Cant wait to see vids of Alan flying his Raptor 90 too...its gotta be awesome Im sure

I have a short video of Jason flying the Fury Ion. Maybe I will try to upload tomorrow.

Yeah Alan Szabo was awesome. His demo was definately the most impressive to me. Curtis's demo was great too though, his auto was insane and he cut the grass real short when he was inverted.

Thanks again!

Fantastic pictures Mark. That one picture under "Friday Demos", left row, second one down. Is that Malories gasser inverted? That is an awesome picture because you can't see the mainblades. Just the flybar and paddles. Nice paint job too.

I also see "Team bob00" got their picture taken.
Nice Tempest heads on those Fury's guys but who let that Milli in? HEHE

Just got back tonight. If memory serves me correctly, they had 376 registered pilots there

In the last pic is that Bob Harris' vario dauphin(sp?). Look just like it.

That dauphin does belong to a guy named "Bob", but I forgot his last name. That is a Hirobo fuss and mechanic set from what he was telling everyone during the judging. It also has an on-board starter and glow system, but the glow system was out at the time of this contest.

Unfortunatly, I left before the results were given out, but the general consenses at the time was that Dr. Tim won first with his wolf. Larry Bergen had his experimental 4 bladed heli in the compitition. He ran into a few moments of uncontrolability that got everyones attention, but Chris managed to get it back on the ground and finish his course. The cause turned out to be the tail rotors being too small for the heli. Like I said though...this whole thing is experimental at this stage. If I knew how to insert a picture into this message, I'd do it. I'll see if I can post them in my gallery monday for all to see.

As of Saturday night, 378 registered pilots. RonK sure would like 22 more to sign up on Sunday, but chances are slim. Team Hardcore (CY/TB/JK) showed up for an afternoon demo Saturday afternoon that was TOTALLY AWESOME! You just cannot appreciate it unless you were there since all 3 helis are dancing around the sky, sometimes apart and sometimes together. Some results from the day: DrTim won the scale competition with his Airwolf (Bob Harris 2nd), Nathan won the auto contest (1.75 inches for 3 landings!), RonL won the drag race, Erik Larsen won the night fly. Mike Schrock did a way high blade stop auto and couldnt quite get back enough headspeed to make it down. SPLAT! Crashes seem to be going down a little. About 6-8 per day, 3 for the night fly though. The 30,000 volts on the frequency pagers isn't quite working right. We had cake and ice cream for the IRCHA 10 year anniversary. The BBQ chicken and ribs was excellent! The seminars today were engine tuning, gassers, canopy painting and 3d flying. I learned a lot. All in all, a most excellent day of helicopter fun!

A guy named "Fatboy" did a hillarious "drunkin pilot" demo that was simply unreal. He had EVERYBODY on the ground rolling. If you get a chance to get a copy of the video....if nothing else....that part of it would be well worth it

congrats to Dr.tim and Bob harris

these guys were tough to beat in the scale competition. the machines were imaculate and the flying was great. a well deserved first and second place respectively and i was honored to be up there in the ranks with these guys. it all once again made my trip to the ircha jamboree memorable and i look forward to 2004's jamboree.

This was my first year at IRCHA Jamboree and to say the least I am IMPRESSED!! I saw SO MANY great pilots, and flying that was beyond my wildest dreams. The "demos" done by the pro's were absolutely awesome, and the Sat night nightfly completely blew me away The flights that were actually "choreographed" to the music were pure art. I Sure felt bad for the last flyer who did a stop rotor at the end, and didnt get them back up to speed in time. That was a real shame.

Anyone who has never been and is just used to their "local" flying -- this event is an absolute MUST SEE in my opinion. I will see you folks again next year.

What a Blast!!!

All I can say is great job to Ron and everybody who helped put this event on. It just gets better and better. Cant wait till next year.

The guy who did the blade stopping autos name is Mike Schrock, and I am not sure that is how to spell his last name, but that guy will soon be a sponsor pilot.!!!!!!! At least he should. Makes me proud to be from Ohio.!!!!!!!! The night flyblade stopper auto was just a bit too much, but what a show he put on. Sorry about the crash Mike.!!!!

400 next year for sure!!!!!!
