Normally I'd agree with the criticism of the low tech approach but I have to say this is an important story for us all to see. It was inevitable this was going to happen someday with people being stupid. These kids responsible should have known better there was no way they were going to impress a young girl with a heli. Girls will never find heli's cool. Their stupid attempt to impress a girl is going to have implications for the rest of us.

This is going to cause some problems. Im so glad the lady will be OK but this is going to have a backlash on parkflyers just because it was a person that had nothing to do with RC. By the size of her cuts that heli should of not been in a park.

That's exactly why I don't fly at a park.

Theres nothing wrong with flying at a park as long as the aircraft is very small in size. Thats why they call them park flyers. Im sure now they will slowly be banded across the states after this. To bad the pilot had to run. Makes the hobby look bad.

Wow, totally lame. Hope the girl recovers from this and I wish people would care a bit more than to run away after doing such a thing.

Take a real low life piece of **** to hit someone and then not be man enough to at least get her medical attention. I hope they eat their own machine at some point.

This incident was the same as a hit and run. I do hope these guys are found and charged with assaut.

The AMA does all it can to help protect our RF band and keep us insured and idiots like this can seriously affect out hobby and the rights we currently have.

I wish the girl a speedy recovery and I do hope these guys are caught!

Last summer I witnessed a pilot flying on-the-deck 3D deliberately slam his $2K+ machine to the ground because out of the corner of his eye he caught a glimpse of an unattended young child that appeared to be headed in the direction of his airspace - and this was at a sanctioned field/event. He placed the young girl's safety above all else. It wasn't newsworthy because no one was injured.

Just thought that under the circumstances at Tampa we could benefit from stand-up example.

I refuse to fly around children much less a public park, mine are not park flyers and most certainly will not fly mine when my children are present. I had my heli run me down and get my leg (rap 50) in idle up and I spent some time in ER was very painfull and was very lucky. I could not live with myself if I hurt someone or a child.
