Head Speed

I will ignore the jokes that come to mind and try and answer your question. I fly mine at 1500 at hover and a little faster during ff.

Head Speed

I have 1600 for normal flight and 1750 for 3D. Never had a problem with those settings

On the same note as this , I have a shuttle also.
Is there a way to measure the head speed with out a tacho. Or is the tacho a must for setting up ?

Cheers

Tach

I think a tach is very helpful. The optical tachs are great. I have one that checks most of the choppers at our field. After awhile you can tell pretty close by sound, but you must know what it is to start. My Scaedu sounds much quieter than my Freya at the same head speed. Good luck. By the way. I run hover and 3-D the same. That way the chopper feels the same. RPM 1650-1750 is my target rpm.
