what is the proper starting sequence for my xcell gasser with the G23 engine. i got this used, and while cleaning it up i pulled the plug and it was black and looked " oily " i guess time for a new one. i need to know what type to get and the gap it will need . i also pulled off the muffler and examined the piston looked o.k.. upon plug removal noticed carbon build up on top of piston. i`m debating on changing the piston and ring. am i jumping the gun so to speak?. i want to try to get it running soon and tank pick up is stiff as a board. any body recommend a replacement fuel line to use, i wish to change out all the plumbing while i`m at it. any way i assumed there would be a primer bulb or some other means of getting fuel to the carb upon starting, or do i just fill her up, pull the starter cord and away we go
thanks in advance

Wow.. you do need help! Bring it with you and come and visit!

Get a new plug. I have the numbers and such in my workshop.

You'll want the needles set about 1 and 1/4 to 1 and 1 1/2 turn to start Both high and low.

There is a primer bulb on the carb. You press that several times to get fuel flowing through the carb.

To start, you close the choke, with the engine at idle. Then pull the handle once.

Then open the choke and then pull to start. Mine always starts on the 1st or 2nd pull after opening the choke with this procedure.

Read this forum, there are a lot of posts on fuel tanks and such.

I use 1/8 ID tygon fuel tubing. Others have had good luck with very flexible 1/8 OD tygon fuel tubing inside the tank. I haven't located any of that to try yet.

Decide what fuel you want to run. I'm using Amsoil 100:1 premix but currently mixed to 64:1. I have run down to 80:1 with good results.

If your plug is dark and oily, someone has been running the machine way too rich. Get a new plug before you get some radio interference. Get two so you have a spare!

I sent you a PM with my cell phone, call me and come and visit. I'll be flying most of the late afternoon on sunday August 3rd and then off and on in the evenings all week.
