My Posts This: Topic Forum | Well the title pretty much describes me. I have a Raptor 30 that I use to practice new stuff on an love it, had just flipped to inverted, about 15 seconds into my flight when she starts to flip on her own (mmm not smooth). Funny thing is that it doesn't matter how expensive your helicopter is they all make a very similar sound when they go in.
It didn't feel like a radio problem (they normally just go erratic in mid air ), upon further investigation I discovered that the screws I had refitted to the elevator arm were too short (yep I know what you are all thinking hence the title) Anyway wanted some new blades (that's my excuse and im sticking to it).
Now when I crashed I was miles away from anyone else at the field (as I always am). Another guy at the field who fly's fully tricked up excel pro's was doing his usual hot-dogging. He is a fantastic flyer (probably the best in the club). He seems to have so much confidence in his own flying that he feels it is only necessary to walk a few paces out from the pits. Well this time it wasn't his flying that was as fault but the tail on his Pro, which let go. She came in about 10 ft from where we were all standing and about 2 foot from a beginner's new pride and joy. I wonder how many of the more advanced flyers out there feel that they don't need the same safety margin as us intermediates and beginners. |
