It sounds to me like one of your shafts is bent. How did you confirm that the shafts are straight? I had one once that I rolled across my granite counter top that appeared to roll perfectly but it did end up being bent. It was apparent as soon as I spooled up. Put in a new shaft and it was fine.

Unless you have already done so I would put new main and spindle shafts in.

Also,I'm guessing the dampeners from a DFC head are much more firm than what was in it, so I'm not surprised it made it worse. Being stiffer I would think amplify the bent condition more than soft ones.

I'll replace both today and check again. That is how I checked them (rolling them on the table) but I would be really surprised since the the whole head/main shaft assembly is brand new (just hovered a few times). That being said I hope you are right!

Thinking about stuffing my 550 into a scale jet ranger fuse. Are the beast x still any good if I switch it to flybarless. I already have a flybarless head for it I believe.

Does anybody have time to help me get a BeastX set up? Tom W. sold me his Aeolus - had it flying OK with a flybarred head, but I want to learn how to set up flybarless (not just have it done for me). The stuff from Tom included the flybarless head he was using. I've installed the BeastX, and went through the basic setup steps - but the heli scared me when trying a hover - not sure if it's the setup, the pilot, or both ? Looking for a tame, stable setup (at least for now) - but this thing didn't act very stable.

Thanks to Steve for the help with the Beastx, and thanks for letting me visit. Now, to figure out the drift issue.
