After a Woof and poof on my Raptor 30 V1, I found an upgrade kit to V2 and did the build (almost completely new). Having a really good priced set of 600mm carbonblades available and only 550 woodies, I ordered the 50 length boom and belt so I could use the 600mm blades.
Since the tail boom and belt are'nt here yet, I installed the 550 woodies to try it out.

During the rebuild I also reversed the main blade holders to the leading edge configuration to avoid the woof and poof again as I'd read that this mod will cure it. I was surprised to find that the pitch movement of the swash is reversed, ie add pitch, swash moves down. Surprised, I looked it up on RR and discovered that this is normal on the 50 titans and the 90s, pitch increase with down movement of swash. Everything else the same and the swash level and and all the servos 90 degrees etc.

Now for the fun part. When I first flew this rebuild/mod with the 550s, I am finding that the heli is much, much more responsive than when the blade holders were on trailing edge control. I think that now I may have to dial in quite a bit of expo on the cyclic to calm this thing down to my level of nervous system. The question is: Is it normal for this reversal process to so markedly increase the response of the helicopter?

Im wondering if my OS .32 is making enough power to fly this heli for just sport type hover/ff and stall turns with the 600s??. It will be a 50 conversion with everything except the power plant.

I would appreciate your input.

Thanks,

blabree

Yes, but usually the collective gets less sensitive around 0*.
