I don't have my GV-1 set to turn off at full throttle. What would the benefit of this be? I may be missing a point here.

I believe the GV-1 will slowly bring the throttle up when turned on. This may be what you are experiencing.

I'm not sure what was going on.When I was in a hover and wanted to do a full power climbout it would not give me full power and the climout was horrible and the tail would not hold. When doing full throttle hard turns the rotor looked as though it was way below the set RPM and all tail rotor authority was gone.Turned the gov of at high throttle position and all was back to normal.High speed clims were back full throttle high speed passes were back.
ENGINE IS TUNNED AND RUNNING WELL
It's almost like the gov does not react fast enough for the torque of this engine.By the time the govenor senses that it's gone to full throttle the engine is already bogged down by the increased pitch setting at high throttle.
Not sure maybe it's just the set up.It always take me a little longer to figure stuff out because I fly alone with no other pilots within 2 hours driving time.So that's where I am at the momment.Any thoughts

Well I went out today to try a few things after about 1/2 tank the engine started to sound funny then a black piece fell from the skyI landed super quick to find the clutch liner had moved out of the bell 1/4 inch and cut a hole into the cover. So my thoughts in an earlier post was correct the clutch was slipping.Just didn't bother to explore under the cover because I have never had a liner on a Vario come off or out of place. Now I have to start my testing all over again when I get my new clutch

Sorry to hear about your clutch.

I've learned, sometimes you are trying to solve one problem, only to find out that it was caused by something else!

For example today I was trying to find why my engine was running so rough when I picked 1600 or 1700 RPM. It seemed so strange...

I started to mess with the carb tuning...

Then I realised I had my gyro gain too high! It wasn't the engine running rough.. it was the gyro messing up the tail!!

So good luck with your clutch, then try again!
