I have this tail wag I thought I had gotten rid of but it's back!

Heli flies fine in manual mode, as soon as switch to auto the tail just wont hold still (it gets worse if there's a cross wind), initially I thought it was the steel screws holding the gps/compas in place but got rid of those so thats not it.

Could it be the the rudder gain in the software? it's currently set at 500.

I don't have video of it, but this DJI equiped heli has the same wag as mine. (Mine is actually a little bit worse)

Take the gyro out of HH mode and set to Rate mode. Adjust so no drift when in Manual mode. Leave in Rate mode and test it in Auto mode. Is there a difference in tail wag between Rate and HH mode while in Auto mode?

I dont try DJI (i dont know what is this) but it looks like the gyro needs calibrate (if you have this function) its something like loosing neutral potision OR something going with delay or sensitivity OR you have low speed servo.

Robert I tried adjusting the gyro as you said, unfortunately today there was very little wind and the tail seems to hold ok in these conditions, but still holds much better in manual mode, is it normal for it no to hold as well in auto?

Here it is in HH mode and auto mode (I found no difference between RM and HH) with NO wind

I'm running 710's and 106mm x 30mm, I have increased the gyro gain to between 55 & 60 Futaba 10c and 401, seems pretty good, however I think that's pretty high for a gain setting.........Anything lower than that and the tail wags. I also run 750 Sab's x 70mm semisymetrical mains at that same setting with good success.

Also, remember, you can't switch from idle 1, 2, or 3 when in "auto" mode, you have to go back to manual to switch, otherwise the DJI won't recognize it.

Noobs so the tail will wag at lower gain levels in auto but not in manual?

I think I tried increasing the gain until the tail would wag quickly in manual and still get have a "loose tail" in auto, but I will try again, as I said its perfect if there is no wind but with wind its just annoying and makes things hard for video.

My gyro settings are 67HH and 59RM

-Raddix 710mm mains

-105 mm tail blades

-1700 RPM

Yes the tail will wag at lower gain levels. Just did the test myself... at 2 am

I knew I wouldn't get an answer from you yesterday because it was still daytime
