My Posts This: Topic Forum | I have a carbsmart on my hyper 50. Its a fun gadget once you get it working correctly, however its not a necessity.
Setup is the key. You need to use the arctic silver thermal epoxy and a dab of silicone on the protruding servo wires, to secure the sensor. Tune your motor first, finding a good temp, then install the carbsmart with that needle setting in the middle of the carbsmarts servo travel. When you unplug the sensor it will return to your original needle settings.
Run through the setup as per the instructions, verifying your servo throw directions.
Set your temp range on the carbsmart to whatever you want, closest to your normal needle setting, set your gain pot to approximately 75%- go fly
Pros- more consistant flights – temp stays within 10deg C of your set range
Cons- It will drive you crazy if you don’t know how to tune your engine without it.
You have to grind out the thermal epoxy if you want to replace the sensor.
Sensors are very fragile before you glue them in.
Tips: For OS engines get the optional OS “in flight mix needle” which makes tweeking easier. |
