I need advice troubleshooting an issue. The issue is the tail has a severe twitch, it will do do this a short period and then all of a sudden the nose will take a hard left. Anyone seen an issue like this before? I am using the JR 8900 on the tail and the solid G. Any advice would be appreciated.

The tail is free, no binding, bearings feel ok. I can remove the tail from #2 vibe and install.

Sounds like electronic interference. Where's the gyro located, is it near a servo or electronic device?

What radio system? Could be a static hit or a Spektrum brownout.

I have the 9303. I switced the gyro, still had the issue, so I had a spare 8900 and intalled it and the problem went away. I really appreciate the help guys. You all had great input.

8900g's are junk, before you buy another one try a bls251 or even a 9256. seen too many 8900g's fail or even just overheat and lock over hard during flight.

Unfortunately I have to agree with ^^^^ mine started doing very much the same. Had been flawless and then all of a sudden it would do all sorts of strange piroettes. Tried a 2nd gyro thinking it was it but it turned out to be the 8900

Changed the servo to BLS251 and all has been perfect since. I did not have many flights on the 8900 and had zero crashes. Your other 8900 will probabaly go too unfortunately

Another failed 8900 here in my Vibe in the spring. It started with random little twitches, then progressed to random 90 and then 180 degree piros over the last 5 test flights. The whole tail system was silky smooth. No good reason for it to fail. It was about 10 gallons old. I put in a BLS251 and all the problems went away. I have flown approx. 20 gallons since without incident.
