My Posts This: Topic Forum | I think it's only gyro setup. Never ever on 401 or 770 use any trim or subtrim! remove all trims and subtrims, put your gyro gain setting at non-heading hold i.e when you move the nose the tail must not compensate! Now set up the tail so the tailblades provide between 5-10 % nose right thrust with servo arm at exactly 90 degree, this is very important as its probably why you get the drift. If you're using 770 make sure atv's are 150 both directions. ( i use this for 401 as well) Now rebind system with heading hold activated, above 50 with spektrum, jr and you're in business.
You don't have to hover and trim the heli in rate mode!
I've used this setup procedure on many 401s and 770s both work the same. I use zeal strapped down with velcro strip. Make sure to set your limits on gyro so you don't get binding, not too far out on servo arm as then you limit gyro resolution. If you still get drifting after this procedure you have a vibration issue
On 770 use dual rates of +_60 percent and 50 % expo for a start as the gyro is very fast, about 65% gain for starters.
