With you being a theory guy Ace, you're kidding yourself if you believe that slowing down the motor has solved your vibration issue with a stock 26 motor. No matter how you slice it, the piston is overweight for the crank and that puppy is going to shake. Shake less with less rpms, but shake non-the-less.
I personally wouldn't want to fly a motor knowing that it could be smoother on my machine if someone professional like Hanson worked on it. Why save $150 in balance fees and pay later in vibration damage repairs? Of course if you don't fly or don't fly much at all, then it doesn't matter I suppose as the 25 flights you put on a year probably equal the 250 flights I put on myself in vibration wear and tear.
Ivan, glad you got it balanced, you won't be throwing links any more!
