Decided to help out the economy (of China) and get a SJGD FS600 flybarless gyro setup.
(sarcasm) It came with a great set of instructions (/sarcasm) so I could use some help setting this thing up with the Outrage Head.
Already found out about the bug with the HH/Rate setting on the tail.

Thanks

Fritz

ETA - Found the online manual. Helps but actual in the field experience can't be beat.

I've got one. Can't help much with it since I haven't flown yet, but I did get it setup. I basically muddled my way through the instructions and used past experience with other systems.

Well, I think I have it set up correctly but there are a few items:

The AIL-FEED and ELE-FEED. The default is 10. The manual says that a 0 equals the swashplate going into HH mode. Do you fly in HH mode or keep it in rate?

In HH mode the swashplate moves slowly. Like a HH gyro on the tail. Is this normal?

If I move the pitch up and down fast and smooth, the mailblades vibrate a little. I tried all the servo settings but the vibe is still there. You can't see it but if i put a pitch gage on there its obvious.

I tried in HH....dangerous lol. Was very sluggish.
fly it in rate mode.
The feed rate is how much the swash will compensate for outside influence like wind , or if the heli starts to piro off axis.
The higher the number, the more it will compensate.
There is a limit though lol. Once it starts to get too high, it will shudder during a cyclic movement.
On my electric I have it set to 50, works fine.

I took it off my heli, as I had a problem with collective, and wrongly blamed the unit.
So at the moment its back to flybar, but collective issue is solved (bearings at fault).
So when I get the time I will put it back to fbl and continue setting up properly.

If you bling it, they will come :D

I've tried mine today on my TRex 700.

Following my config:

TRex 700 w/Mikado Head Conversion
TrueBlood Dampers
SAB 690 mains
Align DS610 x 3 @2S
JR DS8900G x 1 tail
Futaba s9252 x 1 Throttle
Yamada YS 91 SR3C
Muffler FTI Boost 9 w/Kasama header
Kasama tail grips
Align tail blades
KDE Metal Bearing Blocks
Spektrum 2.4GHz DSM2 AR7100R @2S
Spektrum DX7 SE

SJGD FS600 on Align PU gel
AIL-GAIN & ELE-GAIN = 32
AIL-FEED & ELE-FED = 40

I'll try a little more gain on ELE/ALE (i.e. like 34/35)

The model flews fine but I think I'll tweak it more in the next flights

This is a short video of the 2nd test flight

Ciao

I got my first flight on mine done this weekend. I was extremely limited on time, so it was only one, but I am impressed with what I saw. It lifted right off without drama and was stable and tracked very well. Flips and rolls were a bit slow, and I didn't go beyond that. But of all the FBL units I've owned (Gyrobot, V-bar, now this), this was by far the most successful maiden flight. Every other one I've immediately set the heli down after taking off and adjusted something. The way it is flying now with the default settings from the manual are pretty good, certainly better than the stock head, but not quite up to where my tuned Gyrobot and V-bar setups are. Hopefully I'll get to put a few hours in at the field later this week and I'll get it tuned in. I'm sure it'll be just as good as the others with a little tweaking.

So far the biggest issue I see with the unit is the manual. It is really horrible, if I didn't have previous experience I'm not sure that it would be useful at all. Other than that the unit itself is nice and small, with a great programmer that makes sense to use. Very nice unit. For those wondering, here's the config I have:

600N LE
Outrage FBL head
Align DS610 on cyclic, 9452 on throttle, BLS 251 on the tail
Align Carbons.

to speed up flips and rolls, increase EPA in your radio.
Worked for me, kinda like setting piro rate for the tail.

If you bling it, they will come :D
