My Posts This: Topic Forum | What is FAR more important is when a congressman votes on party lines against his constituency, or his district!!!
In doing so, the congressman fails to do what the founding fathers intended. Your congressman is supposed to be YOUR elected representative. When you hear a congressman say he is reluctant to vote for something because it is unpopular in his home district, and yet he does. THIS SHOULD BE DEALT WITH HARSHLY!
We the People have only one power, the power to vote these men and women in or out of congress. Any attempt by a congressman to vote against their consituency is a betrayal and must be dealt with harshly. You hear congressmen voting against their constituency "for their own good." This is BS, and shows a lack of respect for the constituency. We are not their children. We don't need to be given castor oil for our own good. We can vote them out of a job if we like and they need to know that.
We the People must show congress that we expect them to be loyal to US, not to THEIR PARTY!
If we fail to vote them out for their betrayals, then we deserve whatever we get.
We deserve whatever we get because we have failed to exercise our only power in government. Our right to vote.
If you're unhappy, this continued focus on the President is a waste of your time and emotion. You will accomplish MUCH more by writing/contacting your local congressman, be it House or Senate. Let them know your take, and how it will affect your vote next time around. Don't wait until the betrayal. Let them know ahead of time what the outcome of that betrayal will be.
They will listen to their consituency if their constituency would only speak up! The President cannot make the Health Care bill happen if Congress flushes it down the toilet before it ever gets onto the Oval Office desk.
Again I can't say this enough. The real power is in Congress.
