Current motor: 5030-16t 430 or 460kv runing on 12s setup. I haven't weighted it but based on manufacture specs with all the gear I'd guess were right around 25lbs. I am running this at 6500ft most of the time as well. This is the 2nd overseas motor I got - looking for something that will be reliable. This one burned out and never pulled more then 28amps - however it set yet another castle 110-hv ESC into a mode where it won't arm. See picture of current motor below - thanks for any recommendations you can make.

Steve

No suggestions?

I found this one that seems ok electric spec wise, but not sure on size/fit. Need to take some more measurements I guess and go from there. Any opinions on the Kontronic Pyro700-45L - Long shaft?

no, it is cncaddict, he is a user here, and the mastermind behind Xera.
They are hard to get, but it seems worth it

So, what is the correct procedure of ordering one of these Xeras? The Xera site never notified me of new stocks even though I had put in a request several months ago and the guy never returns emails.

Sometimes Emailing with him is a bit dodgy, had times where he replied in 5 minutes, sometimes it took him a week or 2. Just give him a call, see if he has the motor in stock and work out payment details!
Worked for me!

Actro motor never burn out, under normal operating conditions.
justs get warm never over 40-50 C

I fly and then I fly some more.
If it don't glitch then I won't crash.

Actro are nice if price isn't a factor.

When Xera became available - I'd grad two - Hum - maybe thats one reason stock moves fast.

I love the Xera concept and would love to have one, but i think its to early to decide if they are classified as a reliable motor, it needs more runtime before people can report the facts.

Remember, Actro and Plettenberg have been around for many more years and are proven to be reliable.

Im not saying the Xera isnt good enough, but still, i hope they are, but i am afraid to gamble with all my gear finding out, personally i would like to wait another year, and if the reports still are as good as they have been, then you can add me to that list

How often do the Xera bearings need to be lubricated? Scorpion recommends 4-6 flights, which seems too frequent to me, not to mention a big hassle if the motor is not easy to access.

4-6 flights?! that's nuts. Not sure on the Xera, but I've got a Z Power Z30A-1100 that I bought 3 years ago that now has hundreds of flights in dusty desert environment and I have never pulled it apart to clean or lubricate it. Runs great!

Come on Chris... you don't exactly use the same logic for all your heli gear...
