I don't believe so. Did the top piece (looks like a hat) seperate from the shaft? Got pics?

I got one of the first release SDXs and mine is 2-piece assembly unlike those from the Sceadu. And yes the top piece looks like a hat.

So the piece comes apart .Never had that in the sceadus or freyas . I had played on the main gear and decided to order a new shaft assy thinking it was brokenned . Well, the second one had the hat come loose , I was advised to use more of the thin washers (the ones next to the big brass spacer ) to adjust the play . How much play do you all have when you move the main gear up and down ? and yes, the collar is well adjusted on the mainshaft .
Thanks,
Roberto.

Robert, I'll have to double check but I thought that it was a one piece unit. The area were the (hat) connects to the drive shaft is really thin. I thought when I removed mine for the first time that it had broke and seperated.

I have just reinstalled it on the shaft and ran it like that with no problems. As far as the play goes, I had none. By leaving the mainshaft locking collar loose, pulling up on the rotor head, then tightening the locking collar, you should elimate the up/down play. The parts breakdown shows it as a one-piece unit. I'll double check for you though.

I am not talking about play pulling the head up and down , the collar has ben properly adjusted , but when you hold the main gear and push-pull up and down there is more than a mm vertical play on the auto assy . I took my auto assy out after a half a tank and my new auto shaft came out in two pieces so I assume that is the way they are now- Two pieces - I spoke to Greg about this and he suggested adding washers to take up the slack . I just wanted to know what other flyers have in their machines as I have yet to find this in any other Hirobo heli I have owned . My Turbulance barely has any play a all .
Thanks for all the replies,
Roberto.

Wow. And I thought it was 2-piece all along when I assembled mine. So probably I had 2 broken piece when I got my kit

Anyway, I don't have problems with the 2-pc now. I don't have slack and up/down play as I pull on the head and tighten the collar on the shaft.

Would the piece from the Sceadu unit fit?

Mine is two piece. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the top part a brass bushing/spacer that press fits over the steel auto-rotation drive sleeve. When I changed to the Delrin main gear I just pressed the bushing back on and all was good.

I have no detectable up and down play in my main gear.

I have had at least one on a Sceadu come apart at the flanged end. I think it is made as two pieces but supposed to be handled as one piece by us users.

It is definitivelly a two piece as I have learned in the SDX . I guess the gap should be OK but as I have extra washers coming I will shim for the gap .
