I seem to be cracking open a new gallon of fuel alot lately with my only machine being a 90 and wanted to know who else has gone to another container. I see the 2 gallon containers on readyheli and think the prices are ridiculous. I went to advance auto parts last night looking for a container that would easily be fitted with the pump ends and plumbing. None had a basic top that could be tapped/drilled for the pump fitting due to some already existing design that swiveled or accepted a nozzle fitting. Anyone have any suggestions from home depot or Lowes that have worked for you?

It wasn't for Nitro but when I had the gas helicopter I used a standard 2.5gal red container you'd find at wally world. It was trick finding one with a standard top vs. the funnel built in but once I found that just drilled the two holes and added Dubro hardware with the manual gas/glow pump and it worked well. I don't know how "sealed" this would be compared to a gallon jug and I'm always paranoid about moisture getting in so once again not sure if this would be a good choice for nitro?

There is a white 1 gallon container people use at the flying field with a electric pump but I cannot remember where they got it and also I was looking for one myself and found one but I do not have the link. Maybe some1 will chime in and give you the link. But during the mean time I will look for it.

Byron Fuels has an outstanding fuel container and pump set up that is ready to use right after you open the box. All fuel lines, filter and pump are connected and ready to use.

the container holds 2.25 gallons and is white in color. A funnel is even included in the box though the conatainer's mouth is wide and not narrow like most gas containers.

I highly recommend it!

Chris.

Couldn't you just take another jug of nitro with you and switch it out when your 1st gallon is gone
That's what I do when I fly my 700 for a long saturday

Just being fecicious(spelling?) I would probably jump all over a nice big container. There is a pic of the Byron "fuel tanker" in the newest edition of heli magazine.

I got one called the Jersey modeler that holds 2.5 gals, I got it at Readyheli. It's nice for when you're really goind through fuel, but if it's going to sit long, I would still rather do it a gallon at a time.

It took 3 people to hold me back but in the long run for the club its better to not have the police there but cause someone got the jaw broke. It would have hurt the feild in the long run

Anyone know of a fueler bottle cap that actually fits the Byron jugs? My Slimline cap refuses to go on straight. I have to dump my RotorRage into a Wildcat bottle.

This sure looks a lot like the container some folks are using in their expensive 2.5 gallon fueling stations:

It must be where jersey modeler butt hole gets his. How hard is it to strap a pump and a lipo to the darn thing. 199.00 bucks is a little ridiculous. He sure does have mental problems.

I mean if it is really killing you to carry two gallons, zip tie them together. Seems like a real waste to spend $ on another jug. Wouldn't the fuel stay fresher longer if left unopened until use(in one gallon jugs)? Every time you fill the tank, you pull ambient air into the jug. Sorry guys, I just don't get it.

I don't get it either. Sure seems like carrying one jug makes a lot more sense than carrying two jugs together and then zip tying them together. Also, a good jug with a lower CG isn't going to easily fall over and roll all over the place. YMMV.
