I setup my gyro thru the flashlink but should i do it manual first to let the gyro know the direction of the tail correction? Then go back in thru the flashlink and type in the servo im using and save it? I can't remember on this part of the setup.

Thanks for in info

just do everything through the flashlink. just don't connect the servo until you have chosen it in the menu.

you can do it the way you describe if you wish though.

cheers

Flashlink

smallplanes

I have configured my Spartan DS760 both with the USB Flashlink and withhout the USB Flashlink. Both ways worked to setup the gyro. If you wanted to update the fireware for your gyro then you would definitely need to use the USB Flashlink.

I have updated it so that part is done. I'm just not sure if it will spin like a top unless i let it learn right stick from left in manual mode? I was messing with it last night but my small laptop went dead so i just quit for the night. I tried doing it like the book said and i made mistake as usual and now i only get about 1/4 inch throw both sides of center. In just a little while i got to try and figure that out.

Thanks for the help

Gyro Parameters

I suggest that you try setting the gyro manually again. Just remember the tail blades should chatter indicating that the parameter was accepted before going to the next step. I had to try three times before I got my gyro set correctly.

I got my tail blades to turn in the direction of the book by using the flahlink but on the Specra the tail is on the wrong side does that matter? I set the enpoint with the flashlink also and i was alredy flying the heli on a 611 so the direction in the radio should be right. I could change the direction in the flashlink config screen to reverse and the blade would go to opposite way so i changed it back to normal and that looks right. I'm use to the tail being on the right side of the heli and not the left. Let me know if i'm on the right track?

Thanks

Tail Blade Side

I have helis that have the tail blade on the right side only as well. In thinking, I believe it should not matter as to which side the tail blades are. As long as you have the correct direction for the gyro set. Sounds like you are on the right track since you changed the direction back to normal.

Anyone else out there have anything to say about if it matters which side the tail blades are on?

You can check the direction, just make sure your rudder is the right direction first then grab the nose and turn it one way, TB's should pitch opposite direction. When I don't want to think about it I put two heli's next to each other and adjust the new one to the one I know works

Good idea. I get my gyro setup in the wrong direction most all the time.

Thanks

That is a good idea. Never thought about using another heli that is set up. I just stand behind the heli, pick up the tail, move the tail to one side, and the tail blades should move in the opposite direction. If the tail blades move in the same direction then, I reverse the direction of the gyro. I usually check it after making the adjustment to make sure I did it correctly.

Well let me say i forgot to do that and tried to fly it,and let me say when it's reversed it will spin like a top on light skids. I had to hook it back to the computor and reverse the gyro and store it to the gyro. Went back out and it worked great.

Thanks
