DeeTee Enterprises RC Hobbies Closed

Sadly, after almost 10 years of fun, DeeTee Enterprises RC Hobbies has closed down its web site due to lack of sales and cash flow. We are no longer in business.

Thanks for all your support over the years. Its been fun & challenging.

another "victim" thanks to the BHO administration?blame it on what you will,he promised change that's exactly what he's done, made it harder for the small business owner to make a living and keep their business going.

Dennis, good luck with everything.are you out completely?,or just on the internet side of things?

Wow, sorry to hear that Dennis.

My business is still hanging in there. But, just by a thread... I hope we can make it through the winter.

Lots of blame to go around. I will start with myself for running up some serious bills in the interest of keeping inventory up for the benefit of cash flow. That was from the beginning of 2008 until the big crash in Oct/Nov 2008. At that time (end 0f 2008), sales dropped by 80% from the same period the prior year in 2007. Then, it was downhill from there as we had to make payments on those bills created throughout 2008 until the end of that years business. So, we could not refresh inventory because of lack of sales and cash flow. We had to pay those bills. By the time we reached the middle of this year, sales dropped by 95% from this previous year because critical parts were no longer in stock. That did it.

So, yeah, I could blame politics on it and piss and whine about it until the end of time. But, then that would relieve me from my responsibility of not looking ahead with open eyes. Nope, I can only blame myself in this.

Moral of the story: Pay As You Go. No More. Keep Credit To Zero.

Sometimes, you get the bear. Sometimes, the bear gets you. Thats life.

Hopefully, others will ride out the crunch and make it by the seat of their pants. Best of luck to any small business in this climate.

sorry to hear that, but i know exactly what you mean about the inventory deal. It's hard because being an independant NAPA store, everyone thinks they(Genuine Parts CO.NAPA.)just pipes the inventory in until you sell it,then you can just pay for it whenever.
but it just don't work like that.Plus you have these big companies that used to pay good but are falling off due to the economy. It's just bad for everyone right now, hopefully we can scrape by and hold on until things get better.like you said,"by the seat of your pants".

Have a lot of time on my hands lately. The time I spent here did not hurt anything. The lions share of the people I do business with have the same kind of thinking as I do. Didn't hurt anything, although there are some who feel differently. I see the books daily. They don't.

What happened was coming. Wether I spent time here or anywhere else.

Dennis, sorry to hear your shop closing. I feel for you. I've seen 6 shops close around me in the past two years. We moved up to 7000 sq ft of Brick and Mortar just as the economy started to tank, still doing our best to get thru to better times. let's all hope to see some real change (for the positive this time) in 2010 elections!
