When breaking in the new 55, should I disable the governor? I have a multigov pro set at 1800, 1950, and 2050?

Thanks!!

No, just run it rich for a few tanks. I start to lean on the 3rd tank and am doing slow 3D, by tank 5-6 hitting it hard.

yup what he said ^^^^. I was hitting mine hard by tanks 4-5. The tune was dialed in by tank 4 and you should leave the gov on.

Just my opinion but I like to break in with the gov off. If something starts to go wrong (example, hole in the clunk line) and it starts leaning out you'll know it as the engine starts to speed up - gov. masks that. I use throttle curves 'till I know it runs good and is pretty well broken in - 1-2 gallons on a 50.

My opinion is to break it in with the Multi gov set at 2050 and set my needle to where its is cool and not lean and do not play around babying it . My first tank is like my last and mine seem to live as long as anybody elese that has broke theirs in easy . I believe in breaking in the way I want it to run all the time they seem to run stronger and live a long time . I listen to my motors and they tell me what they need . Like I say this is my 2 cents and Im sticking to it.

Oh what a feeling flying 3D can be

Thats right if treat well they dont need much breaking in , just set her nice and rich , I was in idle up by the second tank like said I was also hard on it by tank 4 but it was still rich .

As set above continious side ways tics were so easy compared to the hyper 50 set for max power , these engine have alot more to offer.

Broke it in today and it was awesome!! Took me a few tanks to figure it out though. The manual said start 2.5 turns out on the high and 2 on the middle so I did and ended up running that mixture for 2 tanks and then going 2 turns out on tanks 3 and 4 and then ending up at 1.5 turns on the high and 1.75 on the middle. No bogging whatsoever in any maneuver and the engine comes down nice and warm, not hot. I can hold my finger on the back plate for 5 to 7 seconds comfortably. Took me a total of 8 tanks to completely get it dialed in and I'm loving it!!
