OK, I'm not new to Jive escs, I have 43 others, but I am stumped here.

I just got a brand new Jive 120 HV from Readyheli and I cannot get it to go into program mode. It is as if the jumper does not exist. It merely initializes like it has been programmed already. I am afraid to try it., because I don't know what mode it is set to.

Any ideas.

Maybe check the jumper is ok and/or try another one from one of your other escs. You could also try using the Kontronik progaming cards. Good luck sorting this problem out.

Cheers,
TomC

silly Q, since there are 3 pins there, moved it side to side between two parralels? one side beeps, other doesen't

It definetely needs to beep, sometimes certain motors need a spin before plugging in as well as they are silent if in between cogs..

You are putting the jumper on, powering the esc, and then pulling the jumper off to go into programming mode, right ?

Nathan

I tried 3 different jumpers, both combination of pins and yes, I am installing jumper, then powering esc. This sucks. It must be defective. I already installed bullet connectors, deans and heatsink.

Just to be clear, you are pulling the jumper off while the esc is powered up ?

Also what motor are you connecting to? Do you have an alternative motor to hang off side connected just to see if you can hear beeps? If all of this shows no success, I suggest calling ReadyHeli and get this cleared up for sure.

I have 4 Jive escs. I promise you that I know what I am doing. I have never had a problem like this before.

It initializes and functions just like there is no jumper installed. I even checked motor direction by slightly raising throttle. It is not recognizing the jumper for programming mode.

I am sending it back to Readyheli.

The only reason I questioned it is because it is version 7, and I thought things might be different, but the manual is same as the version 6 I already have.

Wow! It is working fine. I wasn't pulling jumper off soon enough.

Now, it's time to go fly . . .

helicraze,

What motor are you going to run? We have a mix of version 6 and version 7's, and have never had the issue appear with the Scorp 4035's we run them with.

Pyro 30-12.

I asked the bloke i am getting it off and he said 2 times when it first spooled up it was not abrupt but sorta rough or something. He said he would hit hold and re spool and it was fine.

Just wondering if the above is the sypmtom of the problem for V6?

Don't know if it's relevent but my Powerjazz escs (the big one) fails to startup every once in a while (maybe 5-10% of the time). It starts to spool up and then quits. I just hit throttle hold and flick it back and it then seems to startup fine.

If I remember to pre-spin the blades, this never happens. Also, this minor problem only happens with my Actro 32-3 and 32-4 motors. I'm not sure what causes this to happen though.

Cheers,
TomC

Nope thats not a symptom of any version really..

Maybe this "bloke" had it in ariplane mode or something as the Jives, Jazzes are anything but abrupt really...

Tom, I think what you described mostly happens on higher kV motors. My Logo with a 1100 tried not to start spooling up just about ever time. The 890 that is in it now with the HV85 never hesitates to spool up.
My 32-3s on HV85 and HV110 never do that.
Must just be the Kontroniks.

The reason for V6-7 so quickly was due to startup issue, even Mike told me this, just trying to determine what motors it was applicable and what the syptoms are.
