any body know more? was it a terror attack ? they have been tring to get @ our bases B4. its up to 12 dead now and 31 hurt. we need stiffer standards for allowing these people come in to our country 3 uniformed solders were involve 1 major who reciently converted to islam how do these people infiltrate our own military ??

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		My son is there and has an appointment tomorrow at the site where the shooting took place, that may have to be postponed. Very sad situation. I was out there twice this past summer, once when he came back from Afghanistan and again in August. That is also where I was last stationed when I was in the Army a very long time ago. It is a huge base. My son and grandson are ok, but his wife is stranded off post because the gates are all closed.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Kevin, I am glad your family is safe. Jeep, our military does allow foreign nationals to serve. When I was in the army we had a guy from Scotland, and a young woman from Trinidad. There are a lot of other foreign nationals, some of them serving to become citizens.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		From what I have gathered it was a disgruntled Army Major who was recently transferred to Fort Hood. He was a psychiatrist and was upset, drank too much and went on a shooting spree. He was shot by responders at the scene and two others were arrested. They are saying that it was NOT a terrorist attack but no real information other than that has been announced as of yet.

Hardball is reporting that 13 dead and 31 injured. The shooter was a Army Major by the name of Malik Nadal Hasan. He would have to have been in the Army for several years with a decent track record to make that rank. Apparently he was due to be deployed and did not want to so he lost his composure and military bearings and decided to do something to ensure he didnt have deploy. This is a very sad thing that so many lost loved ones who were voluntarily serving this great country. I will be mourning not for him, but for those families.

Stupid prick should not have joined up if he wasn't going to grow a pair and deploy. Excuse me, but that's what the armed forces do, go out and protect the interests of their country. On top of that, being a psychiatrist he should have recognised that he was drinking too much...

How about just taken out front and shot in the head.

We are going to here about this for a year at least how he was forced to join or the stress was to much, Nancy Grace and all the others will bleed this for all it's worth.
