We've been working with a contracting company for the last 4 months now doing update shots of the project manager's job site. After sending the last batch of pics he stated his marketing department would like a video of our process so they can use it to advertise how they stay on top of projects I'm assuming? As I thought about this I only came up with more unanswered questions - so was curious if any of you have done something like this before...

1. Any example videos out there? - I got a general flow in my head but it doesn't sound super professional... Did you introduce yourself? Review equipment used on high level? When I asked him what he was thinking he said just how you do it with some of the photos included to show progression etc...

2. What to charge? I ask as I'll get some benefit out of this as well but at the same time he'll be using it for advertising... We get just under 500/trip for three angles, every 2-3 weeks now depending on how much got done on the site. The only additional expense is bringing the 3rd person to run the video camera but thinking wife can manage

We've been testing moving into video with a Sony HC-5 so this is the camera we'd be filming with on the ground if that matters. Any suggestions/tips from those that have done this before. I tried to search video / demo video but couldn't really find what I was looking for most of the threads were in-flight vids which are awesome but beyond our capabilities at this time Thank You for any help / tips your can provide.

Thanks for posting that - pretty neat. Oh well think we'll do like we do everything and just go for it. Sometimes were suprised at how good it comes other times not so much. I did tell him I wouldn't be able to give an exact price until we were done as I didn't 100% commit to doing it so have some time to work it out. Appreciate you posting that made me consider some things since his will be mostly progression shots of the building mixed in so he can show how his company worked, dates on each photo included in the vid etc... compared to yours showing different client types more or less. Very neat, anyone else do anything like this before?

The software I used may be handy for this project

Pinnacle Ultimate Studio V12

About 100 bucks ...I thought it was a good investment!

I'm currently using vegas 7.0 - using about 20% of it that is constantly finding new things I can do with it. I like the soybean vid - that's pretty neat and kind of what I'm looking to do progression wise.
