Just assembling my Velocity.

I was wondering how easy is it to drop the engine? I take it you undo all corresponding bolts and the whole engine and fan assembly drop out the bottom.

Also how easy is it to change the tank out?

drop the landing gear & base plate, then the whole thing comes out easy.

To change the tank you need to remove the screws marked in red..

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		The engine and fan shroud can be dropped without pulling the baseplate or engine mount. I replaced my rear bearing at the field in about an hour with a little help from some friends.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		hmm I don't see how you can get the 55 out without dropping it out the bottom as 1 piece.

it only takes a min to drop the LG/baseplate anyway.

as for the tank.. kinda a pain in the butt.

but as Aussie shows can be done without completely splitting the frames.

I have done that too, but its easier if you take the landing gear & baseplate off...

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		much easier to simply remove 7 bolts and take the landing gear and bottom plate off, then the engine and pipe can drop out without having to remove the pipe

to reduce weight, even though the hole is big it is still a PITA to drop it with the landing gear and bottom plate attached, then you have to remove the muffler as well
