Whatever this is it will never fly i guess
As I see on the driving mechanism those blades are spinning toward that rocket, so there is no way it will take off on it's own ( kicking it from the rear is always and option)

It looks like a blender to me

Fly it like you stole it!!!

Beats me, too big to be a paper weight.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

I know someone who's engineering class is working on either that one or something very similar to it. If you look, you can see a pitch-control rod running from the center of each airfoil to the boom. Those rods ride some manner of articulated cam (much like a swashplate) to give variable pitch at different locations, so at the top and bottom of the travel the blades produce lift, and can be adjusted to produce asymmetrical lift for maneuvering.

Last i spoke to him it flew, but was badly in need of refining.

take a close look at it, you sure could get forward speed by increasing the 'collective' of the rear rotor blade sets, similar to a tandem heli.

I've seen this aircraft pop up in the top/right of RR over the last few years. I've studied it and thought it's a very interesting idea. The only real drawbacks I can think of is 1. mechanically complicated with little margin for error or slop 2. The rotational speed would have to be high in order to get the blade velocity in the right range.

Some seriously 'out-of-the-box' thinking though! impressive. I do wonder if this has ever flown.

Talk about inefficiencies!

As someone noted there is pitch control at the center of each blade. Now if the pitch is constant, it would never fly as the lift from all 3 blades would always be directed toward the center – cancelling out lift.

So what would have to happen is that as a blade approaches the top, the pitch would have to be increased to positive pitch for lift. Then at left and right position, it would have to be at 0 degrees, or slight pitch used to control left or right direction. Then at the bottom it could be “negative” to generate lift during this phase.

In this whole process it looks like it would be generating a lot of drag in the process – in the transitions, and when in the left and right positions.

On our helicopters, the blades are always generating lift, and then the disk is maneuvered for directional control. This is obviously significantly more efficient.

I got a helicopter for my girlfriend,
Hope she doesn't outfly me soon!
