now i have a govenor , what all parts do i need ?
can i use the gov to limit the head speed or should i use the thr curves and should i change the gears.

so far i have enegine muffler and 50 cluth bell.

i might convert it to a rappy 50 later but for now.

Hi,

I think that you need to change the gear ratio first. That means you must change the main gear and the pinion gear. After this you have to change the tail boom and main blades including muffler for 50. If you haven't all this stuff for the 50 conversion, i don't recommend to make any change.

im running a 50 in a 30 with out the boom and blade change

we are gonna limit the head speed with the redline 53 engine
and yes it has been done

gear ratio 50 8,5.1

and so i guess i may need the gears .

You should at the Very least change the gear ratio...it's as simple as changing the main gear and pinion.

it will run better with the proper gearing.

Yes...it will run fine with short boom and 550's...but the benefit if the 50 will not be realized as much without a larger disc ...to lighten the disc loading

I would definitely run a governor as well..

I would not run a governor as a "substitute" for throttle curves....

You need to set up your curves first and then go ahead with the governor idea.... That way, if your governor ever fails, you'll have the throttle curves there as a back up....
