I have been chasing down a surging issue on an OS 50 to no avail.
Background:

Trex 600N.
OS50 hyper, rebuilt, new bearings as of yesterday.
Magnum DS30 fuel
Aerospire multigov
JR 811 servo, also tried Futaba 3151
CY MP2 pipe

The engine makes great power, but the motor surges. You can see the smoke trail come and go in about 3 second intervals, and you can hear the engine. It will not do it until the motor gets to temp, about three or four figure eights, and its there.

I have tried about everything. I am open to suggestion, comments, anything.

Hook your throttle servo directly to the receiver and run off curves. Is the problem still there and does the motor feel like it is tuned well?

What Aerospire said or it could be a air leak somewhere,head,pipe,carb o-ring,needle o-ring.Recheck the head cause it could be tight but still have a tiny gap,loosen all the bolts then snug all head bolts before you make them tight and criss cross them.Don't snug the one next to the one you just did,snug the one across from it on the other side (do them all this way) so the head seals flat to the block.

Trex 600N/hyper 50/MP5, Revmax,Spartan DS760/JR DS8900G,3 Align DS610's.

I have replaced all of the tubing, rebuilt carb, swapped servos and Rx.

I'll give the suggestions a try, hopefully this weekend.

This engine has been surging for a while now, long time. It started before the engine rebuild and carb swap. I took it out today and...

It's about a three second surge. I doesn't seem to do it in a hover. I held it for about 30 seconds both inverted and upright, nothing. But the engine would not keep a constant idle when I started it up. At first it was lean and then it slow down and stopped. I had to play with the throttle for a good twenty seconds to keep it running. Then it seem to idle OK.

The only thing that I haven't changed out or the tank and the multigov. I don't hear the engine over speeding just this surge up and then back down. The power is great, no problems with that.

Yes, I have swapped the glow pug, and still...... same old same old.

I can usually get two or three figure eights or a couple of tic tocs out of it before it starts.

I'm getting ready to put in all new fuel line and a new tank.
