I find this troubling to say the least. Having just bought a second evo, I'm thinking it might not have been such a good idea.

Ron's raised most of his parts prices to msrp, things that are out of stock says call them, none of the retailers I've cked even stock parts for the IV head.

You need a set of dampers your forced to go to mrc, they want $8 to ship it, ups is your only choice and mrc isn't overly quick sometimes to get it shipped. I'd like to get a backup seesaw but it's been out of stock for quite a while.

If I had to start all over again, all I would fly would be an EVO 90 with SSZ-IV head and use a SDX as a crash and learn machine.

But, and I'm sure most people would agree with me here, the introduction of "affordable" carbon fibre models (or even G10) like the Avant, Synergy, Furys and the Aligns have literally taken most of the 90 market. Superficially they're "sexier" than a plastic EVO 90 - and that's the rub if you know what I mean.

The question now is how much more can we go with plastic machines when competition from other machines that use carbon fibre/G10 are about the same price etc? I still like plastic machines, because they're easier to build, easier to maintain and you aren't scared of crashing them, and crashes don't usually have bearing blocks getting missaligned etc. . .

Listen guys, I have been paying close attention to this thread. I agree with you. The D3 is a bit on the pricey side it may be too much for some in these hard times. I have to say I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. Like I said before MRC is going to continue supporting the model for years to come. Yes the Freya EVO is a bit outdated compared with the competition. This and other reasons are why MRC choose to not bring in many more kits. Hirobo is doing a great job in Japan and by no means are they going to dissert the $700-$900 .90 class. Stay tuned for new models in the future and more innovation from Hirobo (ill leave it at that ).

As for parts: I know the SDX is fantastic with parts and we are stocked. I know some people are looking for parts like “rapidity" and the Seesaw. I can assure you that I am aware of the situation and working hard to have parts for you all.

Totally agree. Nearly all the businesses around are like this, and it looks like it going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
