Hello can anybody help??

Is there any member out there who has an example of this Hirobo model and would be willing to sell or trade. Any model of this type would be considered, but I would prefer a working example. The most important thing is that the fuselage is in reasonable condition as I have some spare mechanics.

Please forward images of your model if you can help this Hirobo vintage fan.

You Sure?

Are you sure Hirobo made an Enstrom??

They dont list it in the history section of their website:

Marcw,

Yes I am sure, I even have a copy of some advertising showing various models of that time - the 'Shark' was listed as being suitable for a 50 size engine.

By the way if you look at the link you posted in your reply the model is
shown as a 280C which of course is the full size classification.

I hope this clears up you query.

"ROHM stalled 280-C (40)"

I see the listing on their page for a "ROHM stalled 280-C (40)". Maybe an issue with the Japanese character web translation. Sounds like that's their Enstrom then. If so, that's got to be an incredibly rare bird indeed!

Please update here with pictures should you find one....would be very interested to see one! Good luck!

Hey Joe:

VERY interesting! That pic looks like the later (1980+) rotor head, so they must have produced the Enstrom for several years then, even though it was apparently (from what ive seen of all the GMP import marketing materials of the era) nowhere nearly as popular as the Jet Ranger, Huey, and Lama.

I wish there was better historical info out there on these old Hirobos. Im almost done with a restoration of a near perfect Falcoln Mk1, so Ive been trying (mostly in vain) to research the timeline of these models. Hope this fellow finds an Enstrom and gets it in the air, that would be really neat!

Marc

I was lucky enough to see one fly 2 years ago at a scale competition in the UK (scale comps seem to attract a lot of vintage in the UK too)

Here is a link to a video someone else took of it flying.

Enjoy:

I check eBay all the time for this type of machine and havent seen one in ten years (I also check yahoo auctions in Japan).
