i am still fairly new to the hobby.

i have good control over my raptor and i might try it someday.
it looks like you would be able to just rearrange the connectiong rods in the stock head of the raptor and take the flybar out. has anyone tried that?

You really need to know what your doing before you try that. It's
too unstable in most applications. My buddies that used to try it said your fighting it so much, it's not as much fun to fly.

yea

I flew Chris Bergen's gasser at Ircha which was mechanically done FBL. I will say whichever software you choose weather its Gyrobot or vbar you can really apreaciate what the software is doing for you. Chris's bird flew very strange to say the least. It fell out of rolls and you had to help it along more. Similar to helping the old mechanical gyros out when flying.

Ask questions online or find someone that can help a little. There are a number of very helpfull people.
