Ok.. Been through a logo 400, logo 10 and now a logo 500 v-bar. (although, my logo 400 was converted to L10 and back to L400).

Now, I am building my dream Logo 600 and need help doing it the right way.

I want this bird to be capable of pretty much anything you can throw at it. Money is not an issue seeing that I have just sold my motorcycle that has been collecting dust for 2 seasons

Questions are:

What motor?

What battery setup 8 or 10s or even 12? and what mah?
I will be using new formulation lipos. Hyperion packs..!

I already have the Kontronik HV 120 ver. 7 ( I got it for the 500 but I am using the Ice 100 on that)

Herc HC bec, CC beefy BEC or use the Kontronik esc BEC?

I'm ready to order parts so I will wait to see what suggestions I get. Thanks for the help!!!

Scorpion HK4035-560, 18T or 12T/106T
Hyperion G3 VX 4200 (2x 5s)
Jive BEC is top notch, no need for any other.
VBar of course.

Yes, V-bar without a doubt..

You actually reminded me of another ? mod 1 or 7?

And do I need the program card for the Kontronik?

Mod 0.7 will most likely last, but if you are going to get a spare, get the Mod 1.0 as spare for when you need it.
(I still fly Mod 0.7 on one of my L600)

No need for the progcard really, you program the Jive as easy with jumper/stick.

I just ordered a Logo 600 setup, wouldn't call it a money is no object build, but it wasn't budget either. I ended up going with this setup:

Vbar+bluetooth dongle
Jive 80hv+heatsink
Xera 4030 Y2.5 560kv
Mod 1 gearing with a 13tooth pinion
Align 610's on cyclic
Align 650 on the tail
Turnigy 10s 4000 mah packs

I went with the Align servos because I've had good luck with them in the past and for the money they look too good on paper not to try. If the Align's don't work I'll be switching to Futaba BLS 451's on cyclic and a BLS 251 on the tail. I'm staring with cheapo packs but plan to pick up some Hyperion's next summer. The Scorpions look good, but from what I've heard the Xera motors run cooler and quieter which I really like. Went with a 13 tooth pinion and plan to govern the motor to about 85% which seems to be the sweet spot on the xera motors.

13T will be too much unless you aim for 2400-2450 HS.

I have a Xera in the backup machine, it's running cooler, a little less top end power, but it works too.

2450? really? oh well guess I'll just order a 12t when I get the chance

Spoolup with Governor @ 65%: 2131
Spoolup with Governor @ 70%: 2194
Spoolup with Governor @ 75%: 2256
Spoolup with Governor @ 80%: 2319
Spoolup with Governor @ 85%: 2382
Spoolup with Governor @ 90%: 2444

I was planing to aim for something around 2300 for 3D so that 80-85% range looked pretty good.

Turnigy 10s 4000 mah packs

Turnigy, even though cheap, holds quite high voltage, specially during spoolup.
Hence my calculation at 2400 @85%.

I use the align DS610 servos for cyclic on my L500 with the Ds620 on the tail. Very happy with the results so far.. And great price also. I'm happy with them but will probably get futaba's all around just to keep it a high end "show off" bird...

MTB 12 tooth is fine with that motor, and to note 2200 rpm is more then enough for 3D on vstabi 600, look at Kyle Dahls vids, those are at 2200rpm.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...
