Hi all, please could you help me, I don't really know where to go with this, I hope you can help me. I have just bought myself a Huey that needs a lot of TLC and quite a few parts,I dont know what model it is,I believe it is a Hirobo Bell UH-1B Iroquois,I have seen quite a lot of models that don't look the same, but I have seen one on your site, can you please let me know if there are any spares and manuals available, and where I can get them from,I need, nose, fuel tank, and clutch, many thanks in advance. Moggie

I have the exact same one as this sittting on a shelf.
A friend of mine gave this to me.
It had been sitting at his house for a number of years and he did nothing with it.
He then gave it to me and I haven't done anything with it yet either.
Didn't know who the manufacture was or what mechanics to install.

Hi and WELCOME!

Have you had a look through the Antique & Out of business section in RunRyder? That may help with some more clues.

You are right, it is an Hirobo flat bed Huey (the small 60 size version). Where abouts in Manchester are you, I'm in Rochdale and might be able to help.

I was told it was a 60 size as well.
Would you still run a 60 size mechanics in it today?
And what mechanics would you use?

Bob,

If you still have the original mechanics, and they are in good condition, stick with them. The head supplied at the time was almost scale for that heli and there isn't anything readily available today that looks better. You can put a new 60 or 70 engine in and that would be fine. If you haven't got the mechanics, then basically you would have to make something fit, and there are loads to choose from out there.

I don't think he had the original mechanics.
He had something mocked into it but I believe it was schluter mechanics.

Renovation

Well here we go, as you can see all the mechanics are out, now to give them some well earned TLC.

Huey Restoration

Hi Guys, bit of an update on the huey, mechanics all stripped down and clean, engine cleaned and bench tested, runs really well, very pleased with it, just picked up a nose for the fuse from Century, need to do a little bit of a mod onit to fit, but no big deal, I will try and post some pics of it in my gallery, thanks to you all for your past help, all the best.
