Hi all..

Well the Velocity is back together .. now I have a new set of problems. The clutch is rubbing the top of the bell housing making an awful noise.. And the TAIL IS STILL wagging its butt off!!! I'm now using the Inertia 860 on it.. This wag is killing me.. Anyone have any luck with there wag?

Wag occurred with gain up to 80 and down to 50.. no change.. Ball is on the middle of 3 holes from the servo...

make sure you don't have any extra washers, or spacers on the shaft of the engine. Also, I know I use way too much red locktite and I sometimes get it caked up where it shouldn't be. Make sure you don't have excess locktite build up between the fan hub, and the bottom of the clutch. I had this problem on an old trex600N one time.

I did have a strange noise you describe from the clutch comming in contact with the bell on the top. My noise was only there untill the clutch engaged... the noise was gone after 2 flights. I have since had to replace the clutch and the bell after a bad crash. no problems with the new set.

Im not able to comment on wag for this heli yet as I haven't experienced any yet.

I find the harder I "throw down" at the field... the more peices i have to pick up.

Hey Dash,

Try tightening your tail boom support. Lock tight all nuts and bolts and really torq down on them (Tail Boom Support). This have stopped the problem I was having with my tail wag. I read one post her said to try this and it have worked for me.

Thanks

Dash,

Move the ball to the outside hole, both our Vel 50's are in the outside hole with Spartan Gyros and 9256 servo's, rock solid

check for binding in the tail assembly disconnect the push rod from the servo and try moving it by hand shoudl be smooth and easy to move if its not get some fine grit sand paper take the tail blabe holder/control arms off the tail shaft and sand the tail shaft to remove any locktite that got on there and smooth it out then check control rod guides and make sure there not too tight

Well I got my bird back together. Went to the field and that damn WAG is still there. I tried adjusting the ball on the servo horn, made sure everything was TIGHT.. adjusted the torque tube.. went in on the transfer arm... changed to a longer blade and NOTHING!!!! I have used two different gyros. The only thing I can think of now is to change the servo to see if that is the problem (doubtful).

I really can't believe that I"m having this much trouble with a tail on a heli!!!

Oh.. I changed my gain from 16 percent 100 percent (during ops check) and still doesn't solve the problem.
