Orbit 25-18 520Kv, 250g without fan, max eff 88%
Neu 1910-2Y 520Kv, 362g heli version, max eff 95%

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		What ESC, both of those are abit tempramental with Kontronik ESCs. There are several Scorpion and Xera and Kontronik motors that are cheaper, more powerfull and more compatable with several ESCs out there, something to consider. All those listed to make 400-520kv ranged motors for 12S as well.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		If you want efficiency you need to look at the Io, and Rm numbers for different motors of approximately the same Kv. You want a motor with the lowest Rm, and the lowest Io. The Io has a big effect at lower power levels while the Rm dominates at high power. Also, the 2 motors you show are in different weight classes which might make comparing them difficult.

The efficiencies don't mean a whole lot unless you know what power level and rpm they are measured at. A terrible motor might run more efficiently than a badly setup "efficient" motor.

I wish to find a motor that have peak eff around 1500-2000w on 12S and between 450 and 600 rpm/V to have a enough theeth on the pinion.

From my measurements made on my heli I am happy with:
Input peaks of 3000w
Average Input power: 800W
Average manoevering like tictoc : 1800W
Head speed 2100rpm 600mm blades
Bog slightly on data but not noticeable in flight
Peak A : 72 A
Low Volts : 41 V
Heli mass: 3200-3400g

That is with a 30$ 14 poles turnigy 500kv test motor (it does over heat, not good motor for this application, I knew it before flying it, but flight performance is greath)

Can you recommend good reading on brushless electric motor theory ?

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		IMHO the two most efficient motors are the Neu and the Xera. I produce the Xera so take that into consideration If you like inrunners then get the suitable neumotor. If you like outrunners then the Xera would be best. The other motors I'm aware of are less efficient.
