I would think you could use a governor for Brake-In, in fact I would think it would be good for Brake-In because it would stop Over Revving,,

BUT,, you need to have the Governor turned off for tuning so you know you got the Tuning correct,,
I would set it up so the Governor is only turned on in Idle-Up 1 and 2, and turned off in normal mode,, then for the first few flights when flying I would Switch back and forth (on/off) quite often (maybe once every minute or so) to make sure the Engine it tuned properly,,, so try keeping the same Head Speed in all 3 Switch Positions, yes it will take some Curve Work but that way you know it it's Tuned well,, J.M.O..

hey wasp that sounds like a plan, I just finished installing the GV1
I set it up to be off in normal and on in idle 1 and 2 and off in idle 3 maybye I'll set it to off in idle 1 and normal and on in just idle 2 that way i can flip back and forth like you said and still be in idle up( bad things happen in normal )Iv'e forgot before on other heli's i was in normal and did a inverted manuver and when you pull negitve pitch the motor shuts off not good
I'mm only running a 7 channel receiver so I don't have a seperate switch to turn it off and on other then the idle up switch.
Next question is what rpm should i break it in at from all of billme's post it sounds like the engine likes 13800 and he says not to lugg it so my thinking is to run it at 13000 witch is 2166HS witch is acceptable i think.I had to cheat on the gear ratio because a GV 1 won't let you go above 2100HS so i whent in to rpm mode instead of rotor speed mode and adjusted the gear ratio till i got 13000 I think it was 6.5/1 or there abouts, I just did it 20 minutes ago you'd think i could remeber excacley, but this GV1 took my full attetion to figure out, never used one before and it has so many features to learn ,Half of witch i don't need.I would have just used the alighn govener but the GV1 bracket was much easier to mount up.
Well it's on now and my brain is smokeing but i think i got it set right.
Any thoughts on the breakin rpm?

To much power is never enough.

sorry you will have to get that info from Bill or someone else that knows more about Gassers, I never owned a Gasser, but I would agree you don't want to Lug the Engine, that is hard on a Engine..
