ok i know what 640 Size blades are but
Please explain what 'modified Hanson 20cc' is and maybe what it entails to get an engine modified? Can you modify the stock ZENOAH G20 EI or is it a seperate engine byitself?

maybe throw a link to us gasser noobs as this model might get you some company soon

Thanks for the free education!

A modified Hanson 2x cc (i.e., 20, 23, 26, or 27cc) refers to an engine that may have been balanced, ported, or in some some way enhanced over the stock engine. If you go back through the posts in this forum you will find plenty of info. The modified engines are supposed to run smoother and give more power than a stock Zenoah. With the exception of certain Align 700 Gs, I believe that generally, most all gasser heli's are running some version of a Zenoah. Start searching around here and ask questions. Many will chime in.

BH Hanson was started by Bruce Hanson and has been taken over by Al. I got two modified 230's from Bruce and they are great. Al gives great support. See:
[url=http://www.bhhanson.com/]

"Toxic Al" I think his name is, also does similar work and you will also find many posts in this forum about and by him. See:
[url=http://www.toxicmarine.com/]

There is yet another fellow (Wally) that has had much attention recently given him for his work on a modified 27 cc engine. There are also videos of him flying with his engine. See:
use the Search button to look for "Wally engine" or similar for all the posts.

Most all the gassers run a two stroke engine that will require lubrication. So, I recommend that the first question you ask be:

"What oil should I use?"

Bring it down to 1800 during breakin Bobby...after 2 gallons, mine was running 2160, but you do not want to do that, hehe.....If you are going to run that head, then you need to get the 7mm spindle, then when your ready, bring the rpms on up to 2 grand if you want...

Make sure you put the 4mm washers on the insulator bolts to the engine..
Read my Radikal 20 FYI in the Century forum..

Its going to be fun... How did you like putting the fan hub, and clutch on?
Is that not the neatest thing, hehe

""Is the 7mm spindle an option? is it included in any of the kits""

the Radical can be ordered with 1 of 2 Heads,,

A) the Radikal HD has the Century Predator 90 size Head, the Grips on this Head will except up to 720 size blades,,

B) the Radikal LT has a 50 size head that comes stock with a 7mm Spindle, the Grips on this head will except 600, 620 size blades,,

both 50 and 90 size Heads fly fantastic, this is why so-many brands still use this type of head..

I just looked at the assembly sheet http://www.centuryhelimedia.com/Man...f?currentid=158 page 8 & 9
and it seems the LT does have the bigger shaft.
my question is why? I would think it would be the other way around.

what does it take to upgrade the HD tho the 7mm shaft.

this seems to be an oxymoron were the HD needs upgraded.
