Just use the one servo function under the swash menu. Make sure the throttle curve is straight. Jr mad specific radios for airplane and heli's. I fly planes on my heli 10x all the time.

Afte flying both brands, that is one nice feature of the Futaba, being able to go heli, airplane, glider (and various wing types among the airplane/glider programs). The only difference is the ratchet on the 'airplane' radios, but easily fixed in less than 5 minutes. I actually like the 'helicopter' smooth ratchet better for flying planes anyway.

But, I can remember when we used airplane radios (no heli radios out at that time) to fly helis. Used a 'Y' harness to do throttle/collective.

I dont know what they were thinking of with the 10x being specific.

Single servo mode works ok for the basics. As long as you're not trying to do flapperons or other complicated mixing.

You could do it with P-Mixes but its a nusance.

IMO the 9303 is actually a better radio.

I have flown Zagi's on my 10X heli, no big deal really, you just have to define a couple of simple mixes. Granted, harder than a 10X air, but not by much . . . . More complex stuff, then you run out of mixes really quickly . . .

I also use my 10X heli as a slave to train with my 8103 - once again, a minor bit of fiddling, but not enough to care about, or to justify a different radio . . .

I suspect that the issue with the 10X was probably at the time, the processors/proms to hold the operating code were not large enough to take air/heli/glider all together, and since the 10X is a very specialized, top end radio, they figured that they would do one thing well, rather than compromise all three into one. Myself, I have no problem with that, and have no plans to move away from my 10X any time soon . . . .

So you do have to get into the pmixs? How do you disable the mix with the pitch if you wanted to use that channel if you had a plane that had seperate aileron servos or had seperate elevator servos????

Bring back the rotary phone so we don't have to press "1" to proceed to ENGLISH.
