For me I have found that flybarless "makes" you fly through a maneveur. A simple piroflip will look like crap, many who can piroflip all day long and reverse grab any Logo of mine and they all have said, "man that's abit tough". Only cause it sees every mistake you make as it is just that accurate in translation. The positive is that if you learn how to do a maneuveur good it shows and looks great. The flybar heli will float and fall into moves, where the flybarless makes you go into or correct as you fall, this is really noticeable when you fly a flybar heli as it looks different cause you are used to always flying it through spots that on a flybar heli sometime you let it drop into a position.
That's been my experience, it takes getting used to but it is a really connected feeling and quite rewarding. I don't think it has made me or anyone I know better persay, but the simplicity in repair alone is a very attractive reason and so much less to worry about in setup, and hell, it looks cool!!!
Of course there are the gains of flight time, feeling of power etc, there are just alot of real good reasons to be flybarless really. It is something that anyone that tries a well setup flybarless machine appreciates in the very first flight.
I believe flybars will be around, for awhile. It's like the N vs E debate, some will always want to fiddle. BUT I think it is VERY obvious that the market with flybarless is growing at an amazing rate and is a proof in pudding technology. I have yet to meet anyone who has given it an honest try on a well setup machine say they didn't like it, most are asking where they can order one that night, lol...
One day my signature will be laughed at, I'll say that was old school to bug peeps
