I have a crash that bent the main mast and flybar and broke the seesaw and flybar cage. However, the main blades and the feathering spindle remain intact. The main blades remained perfect and did not even have a nick of damage. I just wonder how the main mast be bent without the main blades damaged. Might be the heli impacts to the ground directly from the top.

i guess if you landed on the head hard enough, it would stop the head before the blades made contact. what sort of terrain was the crash? Grass? Rocky? Asphalt? Bare dirt?

I'd look real close at the trailing edge seam. sometimes they delaminate in a crash but look fine unless you intentionally peel them apart.

just grab the blade by both ends and twist it, if it is cracked anywhere it should show up then. I have had some crashes like that before, it really is nice when you have minimal damage like that.

I've had 4 crashes with the same set of blades on my 450 ($15 CFs from HC) and twice it bent the main shaft. It bent the flybar all 4 times but the spindle shaft only once as well as the flybar cage once. It happens

I love those $15 CFs though,never even had to retrack/balance them .

What goes up....ALWAYS comes down .

I just check the seam and do not see any opening. Both blades are perfect. I will just call it lucky.

yes very lucky, the only other time I've seen blades survive is when my buddy's spindle bolt ejected allowing the blades to float down on their own. The heli was a different story
