Glow plugs and Glowdriver is what you normally need... maybe a set of Hex Drivers just in case....

At the end you always take a bunch load of tools with you and never use it...

If you need any special thing you can allows borrow it from your flightpartner on the field

Sorry, I take virtually all the tools I use on the bench in a roll a long tool box and leave it close by in my vehicle, just in case. Better to have that "required once" tool and be able to keep flying for the day.

+1 ^^^

I use a check list to make sure I don't forget the things I really need like glow plug ignitor, starter, batteries, tx, etc. Nothing worse then getting out to the field and finding out that you're missing something.

I have a near absolute "no fixing at the field" rule. Too easy to drop/lose stuff and a tendency to compromise what you fix. I bring spare bird. About the only tools that ever come out are ball link pliers for tracking.
I bring a full tool kit to help out at the field, but I rarely work on my own stuff.

my tool bag has hex drivers, glow plugs, glow wrenches, phillips and flathead screwdrivers, calipers, tempgun, tachometer, needlenose and regular pliers, wire crimpers, electrical tape, and a plastic devided box with links, linkages and other light crash parts.extra battery packs, field charger, pitch gauges, glow drivers and last but not least, zipties.this usually keeps me covered, but there is ALWAYS something that comes up that you need that you dont have and then you borrow from the other people at the field.

it's better to ask for forgiveness than for permission

Sandwiches, sodas, chips, water, tent and .... oh yeah, my heli too. I bring all my tools. I hate it when you need to do a simple repair or adjustment and don't have to right tool to do the job that results in an end of the flying day. Some of us don't have the luxury of having the dough for a spare heli. I mean if you discover a questionable link for example, do you just pack up and head home? I wouldn't. Just replace, check specs and fly. Oh and BTW, we also pack a first aid kit and a halon fire extinguisher...just in case.

TT

I don't do 3D....no wait. Oh thats right, I can't do 3D!
