yea the 700e FBL will definitely smash the nitro

34.6% of all statistics are made up on the spot

Thank you everyone for the feedbacks, I guess I will ask santa for a Mikado unit
Setup wouldn't be a problem i guess, i'm a 'puter engineer so I'm not afraid of that.
I guess my buddies only have some setup issues as I see from these reports

Fly it like you stole it!!!

I see what you are saying Floop.

Top end speed would probably only changed IF the pitch were different or the headspeed were a faster RPM.

This comes down to the old saying what drops faster 100lbs of feathers or a 100lb lead weight, answer is both.

I think that the 700E can be faster since without the flybar there is less drag so you can spin the head at a higher rpm. Weight is a factor as well, less weight then you can run a higher pitch without extra stress on the air frame.

So there ya go that's my answer and I'm sticking to it

IT IS ALL IN THE SET UP!!!
If the two machines are set up equally, and the nitro DOES NOT BOG they should be comparable, because the disks are running the same speed and it shouldn't matter what power is making them run. If the N begins to bog however the E will win. But there are two differentials here. The E, being FBL has an edge. But the N being usually lighter, has an edge with weight. It depends on if your drag racing, or just diving across the field. There are way too many variables to make a good guess on actual difference of speed, but everyone is having fun, so I guess that's the main thing!!!

PS If your diving across the field the E would win by 18.5973 mph.
If your drag racing the E would win by 1.5482 lengths.
So the E gets my vote!!

I think it would be very similar to a 600N vs Logo 600 Fbl. Fbl pulls more pitch then a flybared model not to mention the additional power from the lack of flybar and the power of electric to pull the model through the headwind.

I think definitly flybarless is faster. I have never seen a 120mph .91 let alone a 600N, where I have heard of reports of logo 600's doing this.

lol are you using some sort of universal field length that we are all unaware of to get these figures ?

oh guess I didn't answer the actual question.

I'm gonna say 7.0327 mph faster than the 700.....

Yes, here's the field equation: mass X airflow / air density = SPEED (assuming that density in this case is 1.7315% of normal ambient)and where the constant is 1.7231 X the mass density!@#*

Whats to say the nitro doesn't run 100% throttle for the passes and 2200 headspeed to match the electric! I think they are the same speed in fast forward flight.

IT's what I do.

well they could be if the head was the same setup. same pitch, same rpm then I don't think the weight would matter, the heavier one would just have to work harder due to the extra weight that it would pull.

The nitro motors don't have enough power to sustain 2200 HS under any load at all, plus you would have to have approx 7.25 gearing to achieve that HS. If both were turned up to 2200 HS the E would win with NO trouble at all.

The advantage of the E is the power it has on tap and the increased pitch that power can pull. The only way to make the race fair would be to slow the E down in which case, the question which is faster the Nitro or E would be senseless. The only way to find out is to take both heli's to their max performance point in which, I am sorry nitro guys, the E would destroy the nitro! Did I say destroy, I meant annihilate it!

Dude, look at your tail!!!!

We have a local bet going on. Is a Flybarless electric faster than a nitro machine.
OK, who won the bet???
