My Posts This: Topic  Forum		In attempt to get a slightly sharper video, I have been playing with increased shutter speeds, 1500 to 6000 seems to help reduce motion blur and sharpen the pic.
Any thoughts on this, pit falls etc? Or is this a common practice that I am just now figuring out.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Higher shutter speeds allow for cleaner post stabilization since your frames are sharper. It can look a bit odd at the high shutter speed because the natural look of motion blur is not present. Some editing/compositing programs will allow you to add in temporal blur after stabilizing to make the footage appear more natural.

I shoot my video at least 1/250 to 1/800 if light allows and follow the workflow mentioned above.... stabilize then add in a touch of temporal blur. Although if you are shooting alot of footage into the sun the lens flare is going to keep you from doing much stabilizing and blur lest it give away and serve to unsell the shot.

Pitfall is you need light and lots of it. Otherwise you will have very shallow depth of field (although not that much of a problem with infinity focusing) and wide aperture settings. A lot of lenses are not fast enough for you to shoot 1/6000.

You gain sharper pictures with the shutter speed/motion blur but you lose sharpness with the wider aperture. There ain't no free lunch.
