I put my align 2 in 1 into my SDX. About 15 seconds after into the flight, my radio gets locked out but just for a very short moment. My SDX eats the dirt although I hit the throttle hold just in time. Damage is about $50. I suspect the align 2 in 1 momentarily loses power supply. I go back to the bench and check out the electronics, but everything is working fine and do not find anything loosening. Does anyone have this kind of problem? If I cannot identify the problem, I will have another crash like this after fixing everything up.

I really hate this kind of crash.

Sorry about the crash rudyy .Thats why I don't trust all that new stuff.A trusty 5.1V/6.0V Reg,HD on/off switch and battery is all i'll trust.Hope you get this figured out.Seems to be a common problem with the Align 2-1 on/off switch...

Do you have a deans connector or the stock one going to your battery?
I would check that.

I dont think you lost connection or you wouldn't have been able to hit throttle hold

Yes,wiggle the switch while the power is on and see if the lights drop down or cut off.

The achilles heel for the 2-in-1 is that tiny little switch. It corrodes and can lose contact, causing a brief or not so brief loss of power. Wiggling the switch is one test. When you do it, watch the lights. If they flicker, even briefly, then the switch is corroded. I skipped the drama with mine and removed the switch, and soldered in a remote, high quality switch. I like having the peace of mind. Though I didn't like having to modify a product, I figure that is part of the hobby sometimes.

I think it very sad when a company like Align knows there's a problem with the switch on there 2 in 1 but have made no effort to fix the problem.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

No sign of power loss after severe wiggling on the switch. All the lights are on. The 2in1 works fine on the bench.

Servo Check

Rudy
make sure you are not getting any binding in your servos, this will overload the 2 in 1 and cause a brown out.
check your wash out block, make sure the pins are in the slots when you power up. I actually saw some one fly with the pins not lined up,thought something was wrong and landed and found out.

I will double check that but I am pretty sure there is no binding with the servos. I used to have the Gem 2000 running on 4.8v NiCd battery with the same setup, and the Gem2000 does not indicate any overloading on the servo.

The Align 2 N 1 is a linear regulator, not a switched regulator. There is no noise generated by it to interfere with anything.

I think you need to look elsewhere for the cause of your problem.

Find out why

Heliwiz told me it is a bad omen or some sort of curse to use an Align product on the Hirobo SDX.
