It will sound very rough on idle.

You can hear the hyper in my 600 sounds rough at idle.
It sounds even worse when the motor is cold.

It sounds okay once you get the revs up but it's still not right.

My idle sounded more like marbles in a blender last time the bearing went out.

There were also strange metallic sounds when the engine was up to speed and power was down.

beeflyer2.. That was my first thought, you beat me too it.
So I'm going with marbles in a can rolling down the sidewalk.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

You can hear mine too when the bearing first started going bad.It allmost sounded like the fan was rubbing.Spent 2 days trying to see what was rubbing, pulled the motor apart and the bearings were notchy .

I find the earliest indication is that the motor will not idle, I have to keep raising the trim to get a tick over.
If you carry on then it sounds like marbles

Yeah I try not to let mine get that far cause metal comming off the bearings screw the ring up.Once it starts making funny sounds I pull the motor.Hell the OS50 Hyper in that video is brand new ,had 1 1/2 total gallons through it and the bearing went .Its replaced with front and back Boca bearing.I sold my old Hyper 50 that had over 30 gallons through it to a member here (still running strong thanks to Boca bearings ) .I bought the new OS50 Hyper for a good deal from a buddy that never used it.I thought "sweet, brand new motor for my brand new heli" then BAM,after 1 1/2 gallons im pulling the motor out for bearings .If I ever find a good deal on another brand new OS50 Hyper im changing the bearings to Boca before it sees a heli, even a used one.
