My Posts This: Topic Forum | I'm a member of FRCM and flew there a lot until about 10 years ago. Just renewed my membership, but haven't flown there this year yet. Sometimes I fly at Willow and Behymer in Clovis. A lot of electrics, but nitro is okay. Mostly 2.4ghz, but 72mhz and anything else is okay, but freq control yourself. Can only fly there on weekends and not weekdays per school administration. They fly in the back southwest corner of the parking lot and overfly that great big grass field. Great bunch of guys and very diverse interests in RC, except one guy who thinks he is the Grand Poopah and trys to tell everyone what to do. Ignore him. You must check it out. You'll like it. |
. Plank guys normally fly in the morning and the field is usually open for us in the afternoon. I'm not sure if it was intentionally setup this way because I don't frequent there but this is what I've noticed. The only downside of that is that the sun sets on the same side facing the flightline and it tends to effect orientation. Perhaps this has something to do with it. In the past, I've only flew there with a buddy of mine that I haven't heard from in a while and never by myself yet. Other than him, I haven't seen anyone else. I've met pilots in the area but haven't actually seen any of them fly. I'll shoot you a PM if I can make it.
