My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Brand new 260 started at tickover ran for about 15 secs pinged and siezed solid... Pulled carb and it's dropped a gudgeon pin retaining clip, you can see it wedging the piston.
Anyone else had this? Is it a known problem or am I just unlucky, as usual...

It never ran long enough to get rid of the factory assembly oil!
Anyhow no oil would make it run hot/sieze not fall apart within 15secs at tickover...

Well p.ssed off

This sounds very much as though the clip was not seated in its groove properly,if you can contact the supplier and tell them you might get a warranty claim.

only if used twice in some instances maybe,but this does not apply,care is required to make sure they are seated properly,so this could easily be a manufacturers QC oversite.

Actually I was tired last night and didn't read your first post well enough. Yes the clip can come out if its not installed properly. I had one do the same for me on my G23 in the 1005 gasser way back in 1997 timeframe after about 4 gallons of flight. I sent it back to Indy RC at the time and after going back and forth with them they finally replaced it under warranty.
