My Posts This: Topic Forum | Here's a movie of part of the maiden flight. Here is the result of my first scale attempt. It's rather fun-scale and for the moment I am not planning on major detailing or a tri-blade rotorhead; my goal was to make it more like a helicopter in the air rather than a "flying broom stick" - but maybe when I get bored this winter I might add some detailing, who knows
I started with my 450 as a learning curve towards my next project (Trex 600E mechanics in a Funkey MD500E, also fun-scale ) and I am quite happy with the end result! It is really joyfull to watch this little machine flying around the sky!
It went together quite easiliy. Only minority I found was the quality of the supplied screws (easy to strip and breaking the head off...). Other challenges I had to tackle: the elevator servo (HS65MG) was hitting the fuselage and prevented the fuselage to fit. But with a hairdryer and patience this was easy to get by. Heating the fuselage and slightly deforming cleared it enough to fit easily (it doesnt show from the outside). A bit of dremeling on the doghouse area to clear the swash servo linkages and a bit of dremeling on the tail unit to clear the tail pitch slider, and all was good If I can put this together then everone can

I think I can pull off 9 minutes of flighttime on 2170mah lipos but I am still testing that with FDR's and timed flights.
