I'm thinking of replacing my 9303 and like what I've seen of the 8FG. Has anyone made the switch from a 9303 to an 8FG? How does it feel compared to the 9303?

I've done some research but can't seem to find a definitive answer on whether it has the CCPM interaction features of the 12 and 14 models. Also, what eaxctly do the 2 switched channels provide? Would you still need an 8+ channel RX to use more than 7 channels?

I'm new to the Futaba terminology so maybe I'm misreading something.

Gscott the 8fg has a swash mix function to counteract interactions in the swash and or model. it is described on pg 115 of the manual. this is similar to the 12 and 14 but not as detailed. http://manuals.hobbico.com/fut/8fg-2_4ghz-manual.pdf

Second yes you will need an 8+ rx to use the digital channels. they are just switched channels only. they can be used for any function that is just switched such as retacts, lights and the such.

The beauty of this radio is the amount of programing that it has over the 9303.It uses an sd card to store info on so you will never run out of model storage plus it is fully upgradeable just like the 12 and 14 using updates from the web.

Shawn It will not work with any rx but futabas 2.4 fasst rx's

hope this helps

Tom

thanks thomas, i was wondering because from what i understand jr has an all in one rx unit that runs high volts a gov or a rev limiter and regulator for the gyro. Does futaba has this?? I'm looking for a new radio, and i still fly 72mhz right now, so im a little dumb to this.

Futaba has not yet produced a rx that includes regulator and gov functions like the 7100r.

I've been running the Kiwi reg and the new revmax with great results. More wires to run, but I am determined to stay with futaba.

for the money I would get a new 10CGH with a 14HS receiver ($494). I am also using the Kiwi and it works perfect for me. I just sold my 9303, I had likes and dislikes, I can honestly say that the futaba "feels" great, the programming is amazing and super simple. Programming blows away the 9303.

shawn although having all your eggs in one basket is a nice idea but if the basket gets a hole in it you will lose your eggs and still have to buy a new basket. also with the FASST system you dont need to buy any satellite baskets
