I just received mine which I expected it to be a kit, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it all assembled.
I have to say it's a well designed piece of work that looks great!
Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway. I'm suitably impressed with the quality of what you did with this mount.

Glad to hear. The new 2X Carbon is currently not offered as a kit but rather fully assembled. The Standard 2X is a kit. Once I get the 3D assembly renderings complete for the 2X Carbon it will be sent as a kit so you're among the lucky few to get it personally assembled by yours truly

Hey DJ, I've ordered a couple of these. I got them for FPV use on my big heli's but started thinking that they'd maybe work for the smaller heli's as a micro AP platform. Maybe worth thinking about a Micro Carbon mount...

Maybe for heli's smaller than a 450 TRex like the Rex250 or the TT325's. The VIO is 2 pounds but the Vholdr is 4.3 oz's.

The beatings will continue until morale improves...

That Contour HD would fit our 3 axis mini ring gimbal or our Aerio X single axis tilt gimbal, both of them are small, compact gimbals. It's just too bad the Contour HD doesn't have a composite video output for a downlink.

Here's a sneak preview of the mini 3 axis ring gimbal designed for point and shoot still cams or consumer HD video camcorders. A larger version for DSLR and large video cameras will be designed and prototyped in about a month or two.

Yeah, the Contour HD is going to be a skid cam but the VIO will be the FPV Pan/Tilt cam. I've requested a composite SD video out but I'm not holding my breath on that one...
